The country’s main Eid Jamaat (congregation) will be held at the National Eidgah at 8:30am tomorrow (20 March) on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festivals of Muslims.
Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek will lead the prayers at the National Eidgah. As an alternate imam, Islamic Foundation’s Mufassir Dr Maulana Md Abu Saleh Patwari will remain prepared.
Besides, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a total of five Eid Jamaat (congregations) will be held consecutively at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, said a press release of Islamic Foundation here yesterday.
The first Eid Jamaat will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 7am while the second Jamaat at 8am, the third Jamaat at 9am, the fourth Jamaat at 10am and the last and final Jamaat will be held at 10:45 am.
Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque will lead the first congregation, Mufti Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi, Pesh Imam of the mosque will lead the second, Maulana Md. Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation will lead the third Jamaat, Maulana Zobayer Ahmed Al Azhari, Religious Instructor at the Imam Training Academy will lead the fourth and Mufti Maulana Mohammad Abdullah of the Islamic Foundation will lead the fifth and final congregation.
At that time, Maulana Shahidul Islam, assistant librarian of the Islamic Foundation will remain prepared as an alternate imam.
Besides, Eid congregation will also be held at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Dhaka University central mosques and various mosques and Eidgahs across the capital.
