Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury, who was widely discussed for his role during the 1/11 period, has been arrested in a human trafficking case and produced before a court, with police saying he faces a total of 11 cases.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) arrested him in connection with a case filed at Paltan Police Station and sought a five-day remand for questioning today (24 March).
Addressing a briefing at the DMP Media Centre this afternoon, DB chief Additional Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam said, “We have got six cases filed against Masud Uddin Chowdhury in Feni, and at least five cases filed in Dhaka.”
