The sitting of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad resumed at 3:30pm today (31 March) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with a comprehensive agenda covering question-answer sessions, discussions on urgent public issues, and deliberations on the president’s address.
The session began with Speaker Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed in the chair. Proceedings opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, following the adjournment of the previous day’s sitting.
At the outset, lawmakers were scheduled to take part in a question-answer session involving multiple ministries, including environment, forest and climate change; agriculture; land; defence; armed forces division; liberation war affairs; and civil aviation and tourism.
The House is also set to take up notices under Rule 71, enabling members to raise matters of urgent public importance, followed by discussions on accepted notices.
Among the issues likely to be discussed are the development of the Fulbaria sub-health centre in Mymensingh, measures to protect Hatiya upazila in Noakhali from erosion by the Meghna River, and the national observance of the 127th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Lawmakers will continue their discussions on the motion of thanks on the president’s address.
The day’s agenda also includes a motion under Rule 62 regarding adjournment, with a discussion expected on convening a session of the Constitution Reform Council under the “July National Charter (Constitution Reform) Implementation Order, 2025.”
