The High Court has granted bail to Tamanna Jasmin Riva, president of the Eden Mohila College unit of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), in a case filed against her.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Atowar Rahman and Justice Md Sagir Hossain granted her bail today (6 April) and issued a rule in this regard.
Deputy Attorney General Badiuzzaman Tofadar represented the state during the hearing.
Riva was arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of police on 16 December, 2024, on allegations of engaging in banned political activities.
During July uprising, she reportedly went into hiding after leaving the campus and had not appeared in public since.
