The government today warned all travel agencies operating without valid or renewed licences to complete registration within 15 working days, or face legal action under existing laws.
In a statement, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism said operating a travel agency without a valid registration certificate or renewal is illegal under the Bangladesh Travel Agency (Registration and Control) Act, 2013, its 2021 amendment, and the Rules, 2022.
The ministry said failure to renew registration certificates is depriving the government of revenue.
It urged all individuals and entities running travel agency businesses with expired licences to urgently apply for renewal through the online Travel Agency Management System.
The ministry also warned that strict legal action will be taken against those continuing operations without obtaining or renewing valid registration certificates within the stipulated timeframe.
