The government has appointed four secretaries on a contractual basis to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Local Government Division, the Health Services Division, and the Secondary and Higher Education Division.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard today (3 March).
According to the notification, Rafiqul I Mohammad has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, while Md Shahidul Hasan has been made secretary of the Local Government Division on contract.
Md Kamruzzaman Chowdhury has been appointed secretary of the Health Services Division, and Abdul Khaleq has been appointed secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division.
All four officials have been appointed for a period of one year.
The notification said the appointments have been made under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, which allows contractual appointments to public service positions on the condition that the appointees sever ties with any other profession, business, or employment with government, semi-government, or private organisations.
The one-year contractual tenure will take effect from the date the officials join their respective posts.
