A fire broke out at a tin-shed gas lighter manufacturing factory in the Kadamtali Gol Chattar area of Keraniganj today (4 April), with seven firefighting units bringing the fire under control in under two hours.
The fire was brought under control at around 2:30pm, according to an fire service notification by its Media Officer Anwarul Islam
No casualties have been reported at the time of filing this report.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be immediately determined.
Meanwhile, fire officials continue their efforts to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence received information regarding the blaze at 1:11pm. The first responding teams reached the spot by 1:16pm to begin rescue and containment operations.
