Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today (29 January) underscored the importance of professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly conduct while performing duties, ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum.
The army chief made the remarks during a visit to the Cox’s Bazar area, where he attended an exchange-of-views meeting at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) regional centre in Cox’s Bazar this morning.
Senior military officers, officials from various law enforcement agencies and members of the civil administration participated in the meeting.
Discussions focused on inter-institutional coordination and overall security management to ensure that the upcoming national election is held in a peaceful, neutral and fair manner.
During the visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman also inspected the activities of army personnel deployed under the “In Aid to the Civil Power” framework and provided necessary guidance on the ground.
The programme was attended by the general officer commanding of Ramu-based 10 Infantry Division and Cox’s Bazar Area commander, the air officer commanding of Bangladesh Air Force Base Cox’s Bazar, the military secretary, and other senior officials from Army Headquarters and the Cox’s Bazar area.
Senior officials from the civil administration, including the Chattogram divisional commissioner, senior members of law enforcement agencies, and representatives from various media outlets, were also present.
