Mirpur Army Camp Commander Lt Col SM Fuad Masrur disclosed the information during a briefing at the Mirpur Indoor Stadium this afternoonon security arrangements and election preparedness in the three constituencies ahead of the national parliamentary election.
He said the Army remains on the highest alert to ensure voters can travel to and from polling centres without disruption.
Authorities have categorised polling centres as highly risk-prone, medium-risk and general based on threat levels, and are deploying security accordingly, he added.
Fuad Masrur also urged journalists to verify information carefully before reporting any incidents of disorder or sabotage during the election period to avoid spreading misleading or provocative news.
He said the Army would ensure the security of both election candidates and media personnel and asked people to inform law enforcement agencies immediately if they notice any risky situation.
