Four candidates from Dhaka-13, Dhaka-5, Pabna-3, Gaibandha-5 have filed separate petitions with the High Court challenging the results of the 13th national election in their respective constituencies.
The petitions are scheduled to be heard today (11 March) by a bench of Justice Md Zakir Hossain.
In Dhaka-13, Jamaat alliance candidate Mamunul Haque challenged the victory of BNP candidate Bobby Hajjaj.
In Dhaka-5, BNP candidate Md Nabi Ullah filed a petition against the victory of Jamaat candidate Mohammad Kamal Hossain.
In Pabna-3, BNP candidate Md Hasan Zafir Tuhin challenged the result in which Jamaat candidate Muhammad Ali Asgar was declared the winner.
In Gaibandha-5, BNP candidate Md Faruk Alam Sarker filed a petition against the victory of Jamaat candidate Abdul Wares.
Earlier, more than 25 candidates filed similar petitions with the High Court challenging election results in different constituencies. The court has accepted the petitions for hearing and ordered the seizure of ballots and other relevant election materials for those seats.
