Temperatures continue to rise in Chuadanga, severely affecting daily life as an ongoing moderate heatwave grips the district.
At 3pm today (3 April), the highest temperature recorded in Chuadanga was 39.7 degrees Celsius, an increase of 1.2 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day.
Confirming the matter, Chuadanga weather office Observer Zahidul Haque said that a moderate heatwave has been sweeping over the district for the past two days.
He noted that the extreme heat has disrupted normal life and warned that temperatures are likely to rise further in the coming days.
He also said that at 3pm yesterday (2 April), the maximum temperature was 38.5 degrees Celsius, which was among the highest in the country for the season.
Humidity stands at 31% today, he added.
“Over the past three days, temperatures have been hovering close to 40 degrees Celsius. People are advised to avoid going outside unless necessary,” he said.
Due to the ongoing heatwave, public life has been significantly disrupted. As the day progresses, fewer people are seen on the streets.
Many are seeking relief by staying indoors or resting in shaded and cooler places to escape the intense heat.
