The Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has announced the introduction of a centralised, examination-based recruitment system for appointing institutional heads including principals and head teachers, as well as assistant heads, marking a first in the country’s post-independence history.
NTRCA said the initiative is intended to ensure transparency and accountability.
Under the new system, candidates will be shortlisted through written examinations to assess their qualifications, which is expected to reduce allegations of irregularities and bias associated with the previous process, it added.
A press briefing has been scheduled for tomorrow (7 April) to provide details on the overall preparations, examination structure, and the recruitment process for a total of 12,151 vacant posts.
NTRCA Chairman Md Aminul Islam will attend the briefing, respond to queries from journalists, and present the full implementation plan for the new recruitment system.
The authority said that introducing a centralised examination-based system will help ensure merit-based recruitment in non-government educational institutions and contribute to restoring confidence in the education sector.
The move marks a major reform initiative aimed at bringing discipline to the long-criticised and complaint-prone recruitment process in non-government educational institutions across the country.
