The body of a four-and-a-half-month-old infant, who had gone missing 28 days ago, was recovered today (3 March) from his family’s septic tank in Kishoreganj’s Kuliarchar.
Assistant Superintendent of the Bhairab Circle police Foyzul Islam said police retrieved the body this afternoon and have not yet confirmed the cause of death, reports Prothom Alo.
Police had already been working to find the missing child, he said, adding, “We will investigate and identify those responsible.”
According to family members, the child went missing at around 10:30am on 5 February.
They informed the police when they were unable to trace him.
At around 10am today, family members found the body while the septic tank at their house was being cleaned.
The child’s father, Shahin Mia, said, “After my child went missing, we searched everywhere. The police also tried. I cannot understand why or who would throw my child into the tank and kill him.”
