Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) has opened an eight-bed ward for measles patients as the country faces a rise in cases.
Brigadier General Irtika Rahman, director (Hospital) of BMU, said an 8-bed ward for measles patients has been set up on the 2nd floor of Block C, and it has also been expanded.
“In addition, a measles screening centre has been launched,” said Irtika Rahman. Currently, 4 patients are admitted to the ward.
A monitoring cell has also been formed to oversee measles-related activities, and a decision has been made to open a screening centre in the Outpatient Department.
