The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of Jet A-1 aviation fuel for March, setting the rate for domestic flights at Tk112.41 per litre.
The new price, which includes duty and value-added tax (VAT), will take effect from 12am midnight, according to an order issued by the commission today (8 March).
In February, jet fuel for domestic flights was priced at Tk108.79 per litre. The latest revision marks an increase of Tk3.62 per litre for March.
In the same order, BERC fixed the price of Jet A-1 supplied to international flights of both domestic and foreign airlines at $0.7384 per litre, excluding duty and VAT. The price for international flights in February was $0.7131 per litre.
The decision was taken following a hearing held at the commission based on a pricing proposal and market analysis.
According to the regulatory body, the adjustment was made after reviewing several factors, including the average published Platts rate of Jet A-1 between 5 February and 4 March 2026, the US dollar exchange rate used in letter of credit (LC) settlements by the state-run Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), and changes in diesel prices in the local market.
Officials said the aviation fuel pricing mechanism takes into account movements in international petroleum product benchmarks and currency fluctuations to align domestic prices with import costs.
The revised Jet A-1 price will remain effective until the next monthly revision, the commission said.
