A Bangladeshi national has been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut.
The deceased, Dipali, was the daughter of Sheikh Mofazzal and Rozina Khatun, of Char Shalepur village in Faridpur’s Charbhadrasan upazila.
She was working in Lebanon and was staying with her employer’s family in the Hamra area when the strike took place on 8 April.
Confirming the matter in a Facebook post today (10 April), the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut expressed deep sorrow over her death and extended condolences to her bereaved family.
According to preliminary information, Dipali’s employer (kafil) and several members of the employer’s family were also killed in the same attack. The details were initially reported by a neighbour of the family.
Local police sources said the body has been kept at the morgue of Rafik Hariri Hospital in Beirut. The embassy is in contact with relevant authorities to confirm further details about the condition and repatriation process.
