Awami League (AL) leaders in Khulna reopened their long-closed party office and held a ceremony today (15 February).
They hung portraits of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina and adorned them with floral garlands.
The office had been attacked on 4 August 2024, when party workers were targeted and the premises set on fire.
It had remained closed since then.
Despite the party’s activities being banned, AL leaders stated that party members will now maintain regular visits and activities at the office.
Fayzul Haque Rubel, organisational secretary of Khulna Sadar upazila AL, said, “A few of us visited the office today. From now on, we will continue regular party activities here.”
