An application has been filed seeking a case against 16 individuals, including former chief adviser Muhammad Yunus and former law adviser of the interim government Dr Asif Nazrul, Bangladesh Air Force Chief Hasan Mahmood Khan, over the deaths of students in the aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara area.
The application was submitted this morning (7 May) before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam by Usaimong Marma, father of deceased student Ukya Chaing Marma.
The court recorded the complainant’s statement and kept the order pending, counsel for the complainant, AKM Sharif Uddin, confirmed the matter.
On 21 July 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Diabari, Uttara, leaving 36 people dead, including 28 students.
The aircraft’s pilot, Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar, was also killed in the incident.
