A Bangladeshi business delegation led by Amirul Haque, managing director of Premier Cement Mills PLC and chairman of Seacom Group, held a meeting with Christopher Landau in Washington, DC on 5 May to discuss ways to deepen economic cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States.
The meeting, held at 11am local time, was also attended by Brent Christensen and other senior officials.
The delegation included Sameer Haque, director of Seacom Group, according to a press release.
Both sides explored opportunities for joint investments and technological collaboration in sectors such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemicals, agro-processing and broader manufacturing industries.
Amirul Haque, who also serves as president of the Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association and the LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh, highlighted Bangladesh’s growing industrial base and the need for greater international partnerships to support its expansion.
Stakeholders at the meeting expressed optimism that such high-level engagements would further strengthen longstanding bilateral relations and open new avenues for investment and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
