Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman arrived in Beijing on a three-day official visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing high-level engagements between the two countries.
The foreign minister reached Beijing yesterday (6 May) and was received at the airport by Bangladesh Ambassador to China Md Nazmul Islam and Chinese Foreign Ministry Consul General Wei Huaxiang.
The delegation accompanying Dr Rahman includes Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, among others.
During the visit, Dr Rahman is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on 6 May at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing.
The foreign minister is also expected to meet the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and other senior Chinese leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest, including trade, investment, and regional cooperation.
