Anisha Begum, a British-Bangladeshi digital engineer from Enfield, London, has reached the quarter finals of MasterChef UK with her standout dish of King Prawn Bhuna with Cumin Pilau, Crispy Onions, and a Bengali Tomato Salad.
The 26-year-old has impressed judges with her confident fusion style, blending Bengali heritage with British and global influences, often inspired by her parents’ home cooking and her husband Jeyhan’s Turkish Cypriot background.
She shared on her Instagram post, “I want to share my food with the world,” she says. “I have so much I want to explore and bring back to home cooks like me.”
According to her post, her cooking journey began at university when she started recreating family recipes and experimenting beyond standard takeaways. Today, she is known for bold flavour combinations and creative use of ingredients across cuisines.
Outside the kitchen, Anisha balances her career with travel, reading, and family life, but it is her food that has now brought her into the MasterChef spotlight, she also shared on her Instagram post.
