A Dhaka court has again deferred the date for submission of the further investigation report in the case over the killing of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman bin Hadi, fixing 17 May for the next hearing.
The report was scheduled for submission today (5 May). However, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) could not submit it on the day. As a result, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam set a new date for submission.
This marks the 13th time the investigating officer has sought additional time to submit the further investigation report in the case, confirmed Police Sub-Inspector of the Prosecution Division Md Mamun Hossain.
Earlier, on 6 January, investigation officer Faisal Ahmed, inspector of the Detective Branch, submitted a charge sheet against 17 people. Later, on 15 January, the complainant and member secretary of Inquilab Mancha, Abdullah Al Jaber, filed a petition of dissatisfaction. On the same day, the court ordered a further investigation by the CID.

Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on 14 December.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on 20 December ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, which was initially filed as attempted murder, following Hadi’s death on 18 December.
