Dolly Parton has directly reached out to her fans as she battles mental and physical health challenges, saying she has both good and bad news.
Beginning with a good one, the Jolene hitmaker says in a video message on Instagram, “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.”
Then, she proceeds to deliver the bad news, saying the meds have a dizzying effect on her, forcing her to postpone her shows in Las Vegas, set to be held in September.
“Now the bad news is it’s going to take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit swimmy-headed, as my grandma used to say.”
She continues, “And of course I can’t be easily carrying around banjos, guitars and such on five-inch heels. And you know that I’m going to be wearing them.”
“Not to mention all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big…personality. Lord knows those…that would make anybody swimmy-headed.”
It is worth noting that it is not the first time Parton’s six-show run at Caesars Palace has been postponed.
Earlier, the shows were scheduled for December 2025, but the dates were pushed back due to the singer’s undisclosed health challenges.
