BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has said legal action should also apply to his party if it engages in autocratic behaviour.
“The current government would not act against public interest like the Awami League,” he said while speaking to journalists after paying tribute at the graves of late President Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar yesterday (2 May).
“If BNP behaves like a fallen autocratic regime, legal action can also be taken against it,” he added, reports Samakal.
If anyone violates the law or engages in anti-state activities, it is not BNP but the law enforcement agencies that will take action, Nazrul said.
