Stanley Tucci has nothing but praise for his Devil Wears Prada costar Meryl Streep.
The 56-year-old actor, who has worked with Meryl in three movies, revealed in a recent chat on the Tonight with Jimmy Fallon show if he is looking forward to work with Meryl in the future.
In the clip posted on the show’s Instagram page, when Jimmy asked Tucci, “This is your third film with Meryl Streep,” Stanley responded, ” Yeah, this is it.”
Jimmy jokingly quipped, “Yeah, enough is enough.”
Stanley explained that he “can’t” work with her anymore as he jestingly noted, “You can only carry someone on your shoulders for so long.”
Jimmy, who burst into laughter after Stanley’s reply, said, “That’s right, and Meryl has carried you a long way.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” Stanley agreed.
Jimmy then asked, “Where did you first meet? Do you remember meeting?
Stanley recalled, “I don’t know we met through mutual friends. I think Aidan Quinn and Liam Neeson and his late wife Natasha.”
He continued, “And then we just became friends and then we ended up doing Devil Wears Prada and then she and Nora asked me to do ‘Julie & Julia.'”
“Yeah, we have always been friends,” Stanley remarked.
Jimmy then recalled, “I saw somewhere you said that she is.. its challenging or it’s not fun to play charades with her. It’s not fair maybe.”
Stanley said, “No, she is too good!
Jimmy chimed in, “She is too good! That’s not fair to play Charades with Meryl Streep.”
He then asked with curiosity, “Is it because of her acting or guessing?”
”Everything!” Tucci remarked, adding, “She is just Brilliant! She has a mind that… she is Brilliant.”
