Rumer Willis has finally revealed how she handles online criticism as a single mother.
Speaking to E! News on Thursday, the House Bunny alum said that she’s aware of the online criticism surrounding her parenting, but she tries her best to ignore the trolls.
“My goal is not to try and behave in this way that seems like I’m totally unconscious of what’s going on,” said Rumer. “But I’m really trying to find the places that are the same—that we can connect, that we can support each other.”
“I might not do that the best sometimes. Honestly, some days, it’s just a challenge. We’re all trying to figure out how to be understood, how to be seen,” she continued.
The daughter of Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Bruce Willis added, “You can have a day where somebody pops off and it doesn’t bother me and sometimes, it really does.”
The 37-year-old actress further told the outlet that she’s aware she had a very particular upbringing.
I’m not naive to the fact that I have had a different level of privilege,” said the Air Strike actress. “I’ve just grown up different and there will always be a divide with certain things.”
“I can say I’m struggling as a single mom but there’s just a level that’s different. I understand that,” she added.
For those unversed, Rumer is a mother to a 3-year-old daughter, Louetta, whom she shares with her ex-partner Derek Thomas.
