The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed fuel stations to give priority supply of fuel to vehicles operated by law enforcement agencies and prisons to ensure uninterrupted emergency services.
The directive was issued in a letter sent to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Wednesday (15 April).
According to the letter, prison vehicles are required around the clock for urgent tasks, including transporting inmates, shifting them to hospitals, and carrying out official duties.
Similarly, vehicles used by law enforcement agencies are essential at all times for maintaining internal security, conducting border patrols, and carrying out operations.
In this context, the letter requested necessary instructions to be issued to fuel stations to ensure priority fuel supply for vehicles operated by agencies such as the Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Department of Narcotics Control, and the Department of Prisons.
