Majedul Haque Helal, who allegedly supplied the weapon used in the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, today (18 April) gave a confessional statement before a court in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman recorded his statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure after police produced the accused before the court and sought to record his confession.

Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on 20 December ordered inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case, which was initially filed as an attempted murder case, following Hadi’s death on 18 December.
