A fire that broke out in the immigration server room on the second floor of Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at around 11pm on Sunday (5 April) was brought under control after about an hour.
Airport Director Hafiz Ahmed said around 12:30am that the blaze had been brought under control, although smoke was still lingering.
He added that the incident occurred after all scheduled flights had departed, and no disruptions to flight operations were reported.

Preliminary assessments suggest the fire originated in the arrival immigration server room, located above the customs area, he added.
