The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested former Chattogram Metropolitan Police commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol.
He was arrested from his residence in Dhanmondi around 7:30pm today (30 March), DB chief and Additional Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam told The Business Standard.
He said the International Crimes Tribunal had issued a warrant against Abdul Jalil Mondol in connection with a murder case linked to the 2013 Shapla Chattar incident. He was arrested in line with that warrant.
