The first session of the current parliament will resume tomorrow (29 March) with its third sitting at 3pm after a 14-day break.
The agenda for tomorrow’s business includes a discussion on the thanksgiving motion over the president’s speech delivered on the very first day of the maiden session of the 13th parliament.
There will also be a question-and-answer session on the Local Government Division, the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Election Commission, and the President’s Office.
In addition, a discussion may be held on notices submitted by three lawmakers, calling the attention of Parliament to matters of urgent public importance in accordance with Section 71 of the Rules of Procedure.
Earlier, on 12 March, the 13th Parliament began its five-year journey with its first session, just a month after the general election held on 12 February.
On 15 March, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed adjourned the session until 29 March after only two sittings due to the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
During the current session, a total of 50 hours will be devoted to discussions on the thanksgiving motion over the president’s speech.
