Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan left Dhaka for Turkey early today (26 March) to attend the “International Strategic Communication Summit (StratCom) 2026” at the invitation of the Turkish government.
According to a press release of the ministry, the two-day international conference will be held on 27 and 28 March at the Conrad Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul.
The information minister will speak as a panellist at the first session titled “A New Framework for the World Order: A Strategic Communication Perspective” on 27 March.
Foreign Minister of Northern Cyprus Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Syrian Information Minister Hamza Al-Mustafa and Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Culture and Information Kanat Zhumabayevich Iskakov will also attend the session
The panel will be moderated by TRT World senior presenter Alican Ayanlar.
The minister is scheduled to attend a reception marking Independence and National Day, organised by the Bangladesh Embassy in Turkey.
During the visit, Swapan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with representatives from different countries.
He is scheduled to return home on 30 March.
