A total of 18 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) of the Bangladesh Army holding the rank of Master Warrant Officer have been awarded honorary commissions as lieutenants on the occasion of Independence Day.
The honorary commissions were conferred today (26 March), according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Defence.
The officers who received the honorary rank are: Mohammad Jamal Uddin (Armoured); Md Abdul Kaiyum (Artillery); Md Moharram Hossain (Artillery); Md Saiful Islam (Engineers); Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Sikder (Engineers); Md Ismail Hossain (Engineers); Md Shahidul Islam (Engineers); Md Abdul Kader (Signals); Kazi Mokarram Hossain (East Bengal); Md Habibur Rahman (East Bengal); Mohammad Tajul Islam (East Bengal); Mohammad Kibria Kamal (East Bengal); Mohammad Kamruzzaman (East Bengal); Md Khaled Morshed Nirob, Bir; Sheikh Kamal Uddin (ASC); Obaidur Rahman Sekh (EME); Md Abul Hashem (EME); and Md Abdul Kader (CMP).
The notification stated that the honorary commissions will be effective from 26 March 2026.
