The government has brought changes to two key administrative positions, appointing SM Ebadur Rahman as Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) on a contractual basis and reassigning incumbent Secretary Md Shahriar Kader Siddiky to the Ministry of Public Administration.
The information was disclosed through two separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, stating that the orders take immediate effect.
According to the notification, SM Ebadur Rahman has been appointed as secretary of the ERD for a period of one year from the date of joining, under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018.
It added, prior to assuming the role, he must relinquish any engagement with other professions, businesses, or affiliations with government or non-government organisations.
The notification further states that the terms and conditions of his appointment will be specified in a separate contract.
Meanwhile, the current ERD Secretary, Md Shahriar Kader Siddiky, has been transferred and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration as secretary.
