A schoolboy was stabbed to death in Hatirjheel’s Madhubagh area in the capital while hanging out with friends yesterday (20 March), on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The deceased was Md Rabbi, 19, a 10th grader at Anjuman High School in Moghbazar.
Rabbi, son of Md Faruk Mia of Fultala Upazila in Panchagarh, used to live with his family in Chairman Goli in Moghbazar.
Mehedi Hasan, a classmate of Rabbi, said while passing through the madrasah field in Madhubagh around 9pm, three to four miscreants stabbed Rabbi in the chest and abdomen with sharp weapons before fleeing.
He was first taken to a local hospital and later taken to Dhaka Medical College for better treatment.
Doctors on duty declared Rabbi dead at around 10:30pm.
Md Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at DMCH, said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue and the matter has been reported to Hatirjheel Police Station.
