Five villages in Munshiganj observed Eid-ul-Fitr today (20 March), aligning with Saudi Arabia.
Eid was celebrated in areas including Adhara, Mollakandi, and Shiloy under Sadar Upazila, along with two other nearby villages. More than 400 devotees took part in Eid prayers held in the morning.
Following the prayers, worshippers exchanged greetings and embraced each other in the spirit of Eid.
Followers of the locally practiced Jahagir school of thought said they observe Eid based on the sighting of the new moon anywhere in the world. From this belief, they have been celebrating Eid in accordance with Saudi Arabia every year.
As in previous years, Eid is being celebrated peacefully in these areas.
