Unidentified man’s body recovered from Mirsarai waterfall

An unidentified man, aged around 35, was found dead in a water body at Napittachhara waterfall in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram today (19 March).

Locals said they spotted the body floating in a pool at the waterfall and informed the police and the fire service. A team from Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence later recovered the body from the spot.

Sahlang Marma, team leader of Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, said they retrieved the body from the pool after receiving the information and handed it over to the police.

Sub-Inspector Md Abdullah Al Faruk of Mirsarai Police Station said police recovered the body around noon after being alerted by local residents.

“The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. Efforts are underway to identify him,” he added.
