A 34-member delegation of senior Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) officials, including additional secretaries and joint secretaries, left Dhaka for Pakistan today (8 November) to attend a two-week Executive Leadership Training Programme.
The programme will be held at the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) in Lahore, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider was present at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see off the delegation.
Earlier, the high commissioner hosted a dinner in honour of the participants, describing the programme as an important initiative to strengthen bilateral ties through institutional engagement, professional collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.
He highlighted the commitment of the leadership of both countries to expanding cooperation, particularly in public administration. He also identified education, science and technology, trade, culture, media, climate change and digital governance as potential areas for greater collaboration.
Referring to the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, announced by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar during his visit to Dhaka in August 2025, Haider said 170 Bangladeshi students had joined leading Pakistani universities in 2026, with another 20 expected to enrol shortly.
He also recalled that the first batch of 12 senior Bangladeshi civil servants had completed the executive leadership training programme earlier this year.
The current delegation is the second batch to participate in the initiative, reflecting growing institutional cooperation between the two countries, the press release said.
