An analysis of Cuet’s performance indicators shows that the university improved its scores in several areas but recorded a decline in academic reputation, contributing to its fall in the rankings.
Its citations per paper score rose to 66.1 out of 100 from 58.6 in the previous edition, while its score for papers per faculty member also improved to 36.1.
However, its academic reputation score fell to 33.9 from 37.3.
Among the other indicators, Cuet scored 54.8 in employer reputation, 35.5 in international research network, 28.5 in faculty-student ratio and 14.8 in staff with PhD.
It scored 2.8 for inbound exchange students, 2.3 for the proportion of international faculty, 1.6 for outbound exchange students and 1.0 for the proportion of international students.
In the South Asian rankings, Cuet fell four places to 101st from 97th.
Among Bangladeshi universities, Cuet ranked 12th overall and third among the country’s five engineering universities, behind Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet).
Buet ranked 179th in Asia, while Kuet secured 370th position.
