The BNP began a procession in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan this afternoon (7 November) to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day, with party Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman leading it.
The procession started at 3:15pm in front of the party’s central office.
Since morning, BNP leaders and activists from different thanas and wards in the capital, as well as nearby districts and upazilas, had been gathering in Naya Paltan in smaller processions to join the event.
They carried national and party flags, banners, festoons and placards featuring photographs of senior party leaders. Slogans filled Naya Paltan and the surrounding areas.

Before the rally began, Tarique addressed a brief gathering in front of the party’s central office in Naya Paltan. The BNP’s acting secretary general, standing committee members and senior leaders were also present.
The procession was scheduled to pass the chief justice’s residence and the InterContinental Dhaka before moving through Banglamotor and Farmgate. It was initially scheduled to end at Manik Mia Avenue. However, the route has since been changed, and the procession will now conclude at Zia Udyan.

The party has made special preparations to ensure the procession is orderly and peaceful. BNP volunteers were deployed to maintain discipline on the roads, while law enforcement agencies remained alert to keep traffic moving normally and prevent any untoward incidents.
The BNP also held processions in different districts and metropolitan cities across the country today.
Processions will be organised at thana and upazila levels tomorrow.
