Leaders and activists of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have started gathering in the capital’s Naya Paltan area ahead of a procession marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Activists from different parts of Dhaka, as well as nearby districts and upazilas, are arriving at the party’s central office to join the programme, scheduled to begin at 3pm today (7 November) at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan.
It will be led by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The procession will pass the chief justice’s residence, the InterContinental Dhaka, Banglamotor and Farmgate before ending at Manik Mia Avenue.
The party will also organise programmes at district and metropolitan levels across the country today. Similar programmes will be held at thana and upazila levels tomorrow.
A brief rally will be held before the procession, where Tarique will address the activists. A temporary stage has been set up in front of the BNP central office for the gathering.
