Luke Bryan has come forward to embrace his dance moves, clarifying that he has no plans to tone down his dancing despite facing criticism.
The 50-year-old American singer and songwriter chatted with Billboard’s Chart History for an interview, where he opened up about his 2011 song Country Girl (Shake It for Me) and the impact it had on others.
Bryan said, “At the time, you got songs like ‘Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy,’ which, those are giant songs with high levels of dancing and uptempo.”
“I was just writing music for my crowd and the joy of the years I’ve had watching country girls let their hair down and just shake it and have fun.”
“It made me morph into more of a person that does that on stage too — just to have fun,” the One Margarita crooner quipped.
Bryan went on to share that people have been judging him over the years for “dancing and shaking;” however, they have not yet stopped him from enjoying life in his own way.
He added, “It’s always been for fun for me and letting everybody else come along on the party too. With me, it’s just been a life-changing song for me. It really told the world who I was, who my brand was.”
“I’m the guy in the room that’s here to have fun and I’m here to make you have fun. Life’s too short not to do that,” Luke Bryan concluded.
