BNP candidate Amir Khasru secured 62,233 votes in Chattogram-11 (Bandar–Patenga), while Jamaat nominee Shafiul received 41,493, according to partial results.
Returning Officer Mohammad Belayet Hossain Chowdhury announced the figures after counting ballots from 81 of the constituency’s 143 polling centres.
Chattogram-11 has 495,278 voters, including 252,333 men, 242,942 women and three hijra voters.
Jamaat candidate congratulates Khasru
Jamaat candidate Mohammad Shafiul Alam has congratulated Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on his victory.
In a Facebook post on Thursday night (12 February), Shafiul said the people’s verdict in a democratic process is final and must be respected.
“In a democratic process, the people’s mandate is final. We honour and welcome that decision,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to his supporters in Chattogram-11 who worked tirelessly for the Daripalla symbol, saying he remains thankful for their dedication and effort.
“I have always stood by you, I am with you now, and I will continue to do so, Inshallah,” he said.
