DMTCL sources said the metro rail authorities had received police advice to keep the two stations closed as a precautionary measure.

Train services at Mirpur-10 and Mirpur-11 metro rail stations resumed around 12:30pm today (3 November) after being suspended for nearly 40 minutes amid clashes between garment workers and police, Prothom Alo reports.
The two stations were temporarily skipped as garment workers staged demonstrations for the third consecutive day, demanding higher wages and blocking roads in Mirpur.
According to sources at the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), trains stopped at neither station from 11:50am. All entrances to both stations were also closed as a security precaution, preventing passengers from entering or leaving.
Train services between Uttara and Motijheel continued during the suspension, while operations at other stations remained unaffected.
Garment workers returned to the streets shortly after 10am, leading to confrontations with police.
During the protests, demonstrators set fire to discarded wooden materials and bamboo beneath the Mirpur-11 metro station, bringing traffic on the road below to a halt.
The confrontation subsided around 11:30am.
DMTCL sources said the decision to temporarily suspend services at the two stations followed a precautionary recommendation from the metro rail police.
A similar measure was taken last Sunday, when services at Kazipara, Mirpur-10 and Pallabi stations were suspended for more than two hours.
DMTCL describes the temporary suspension of services at selected stations as ‘skipping’. Under this arrangement, metro trains continue running along their routes but do not stop at the designated stations for passengers to board or alight.
