Police today (1 November) recovered three bodies, including two women, from separate locations at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
The bodies were recovered between the afternoon and evening and later sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.
Shahbagh Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajib said the body of an unidentified woman, aged around 35, was found dead on a road beside the hospital’s emergency department.
Locals said the woman appeared to be homeless and usually stayed around the hospital premises.
In a separate incident, Shahbagh Police Sub-Inspector Mahmudul Hasan said police recovered the body of a young man, identified as Rahat, 25, from inside Suhrawardy Udyan.
He was also homeless and used to stay in the park, the officer said, adding that he was believed to have died from illness.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, inspector and in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, said the body of an elderly woman, estimated to be around 70, was found beneath the twin staircase between wards 101 and 102 of the hospital’s emergency department.
