“It’s going to be a pretty good day for the race,” said Bryan Ramsey, a meteorologist at the New York office of the National Weather Service. The forecast is for dry, sunny conditions with light winds, low humidity and temperatures peaking at around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. “This is as seasonal as it gets,” he said.
For the early runners, with the wheelchair race starting at 8 a.m., the professional women at 8:30 and then the men at 9:05, it will be a cool, mostly cloudy start on Staten Island with temperatures in the mid-40s. Temperatures will gradually climb as brighter skies develop. For everyone else, the waves set off between 9:10 and 11:30. By the fourth wave at 10:55 a.m., temperatures are expected to be in the mid-50s, Mr. Ramsey said, before peaking at about 60 degrees in the afternoon, particularly in Manhattan, where the race finishes.
