A 37-year-old man was run over by a passenger bus in the capital’s Rampura yesterday (29 October), hours after he returned home from a work trip to China.
The deceased, Shahidullah, worked for a private company in Bangshal, his brother Jewel Rana said.
He had returned to Bangladesh from China yesterday and was on his way home to Demra’s Naraibagh area when the accident occurred, Jewel said.
Rampura Police Station Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam said police recovered the body from the scene after receiving information about the accident.
Police seized the bus and detained its driver, he said.
The body was handed over to the family without an autopsy following a request from the deceased’s relatives, the police officer added.
