Japan’s ONODERA USER RUN Co Ltd and three Bangladeshi organisations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Dhaka today (29 October) to establish a Japanese language and skills development centre for young people seeking employment in Japan and Bangladesh.
The centre will focus on disadvantaged youth, offering Japanese language training, professional skills development and guidance on workplace culture.
Under the agreement, “ONODERA USER RUN” will lead training and employment preparation, while the Centre for Zakat Management (CZM) will identify candidates. The Institute of Islamic Social Finance (IISF) will provide institutional and infrastructure support, and Rahimafrooz will offer strategic support and coordinate the partners.
Jun Kato, CEO of ONODERA USER RUN; Dr Mohammad Ayub Mia, CEO of CZM; Arastu Khan, vice-chairman of IISF; and Niaz Rahim, group managing director of Rahimafrooz, signed the MoU. Aya Yoshida, minister at the
Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, attended the ceremony.
Yoshida said Japan wanted to recruit skilled workers from countries including Bangladesh, highlighting the importance of Japanese language proficiency, professional qualifications and knowledge of workplace culture.
The partners did not disclose the centre’s location, opening date or expected number of trainees.
