Two people allegedly fled after leaving an unidentified man’s body at the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) today (9 October).
The man, estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old, was brought to the hospital at around 2:30pm by two men on an autorickshaw.
According to hospital staff and police, after placing him on a hospital trolley, the men said they would collect a ticket for the patient before leaving the premises. They did not return.
Confirming the matter, Inspector Mohammad Habibur Rahman, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, told The Business Standard that the men who brought the body to the hospital could not be traced.
“There were no visible injury marks on the man’s body. The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy,” he added. “Police also found a wallet in the man’s pocket containing Tk30 and a photograph.”
