Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has again been ranked the top science and technology university in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027.
THE published the ranking on its website today (30 September), placing JUST in the 1,001-1,200 band globally and 10th among Bangladeshi universities.
The ranking evaluates universities based on key indicators including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook.
JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Yarul Kabir said the achievement was the result of the collective efforts of the university’s teachers, students, officers and employees.
“This achievement is not of any individual or department, but the result of the collective efforts of the entire JUST family,” he said, adding that the university aims to improve its position nationally and internationally.
JUST Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan said the ranking was an important recognition of the university’s academic and research progress, reflecting the continued efforts of its teachers and students in research, innovation and academic activities.
Meanwhile, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) jointly secured second place among Bangladeshi universities in the THE World University Rankings 2027. Globally, it was placed in the 1,001-1,200 band among 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories.
According to a university press release, GAU ranked second among all public and private universities in Bangladesh in the “Quality Teaching” indicator.
GAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr GKM Mostafizur Rahman said the university’s progress in international rankings reflected the collective efforts of its teachers, students, officers and employees.
He said the university would continue working to improve the quality of education, research and innovation and establish GAU as a globally recognised university.
